Obama Defends NSA, Says America Has To Make Choices Between Privacy And Security → m.huffpost.com

texasronpaulgirl:

Of course that would be the argument these losers would use.

Propaganda at its finest.

If that was really the issue, why didn’t we have a choice BEFORE this shit happened?

So I had another encounter with the police tonight:
  • Riding my bike home from work at 230 AM. I had lights on my bike and was 100% sure I had not committed a crime.
  • Officer: Good evening, can I ask what you're doing riding your bike in the street at this time of night?
  • Me: I'm going home from work. Have I done something wrong?
  • Officer: I'm gonna need to see your ID
  • Me: Do you have any reason to suspect me of committing a crime?
  • Officer: No, but you're riding your bike at 2:30 in the morning and wearing a backpack.
  • Me: That doesn't qualify as reasonable suspicion. Am I being detained?
  • Officer: I'm going to need to see your ID.
  • Me: Am I being detained?
  • Officer: Sir, I need to see your ID.
  • Me: If you have no reason to suspect me of committing a crime then I have to assume I am free to go.
  • Officer: Sir, I'm gonna need you to cooperate with me. Can I see your ID?
  • Me: Am I being detained?
  • Officer: No.
  • Me: Then am I free to go?
  • Officer: You're not going to show me your ID?
  • Me: If I'm not suspected of committing a crime then I have no reason to share that information with you. Am I free to go?
  • Officer: [clearly pissed off] Have a good night. [walks away]
